Police returned to an Aldinga Beach home at 10pm on Saturday, where they arrested a 48-year-old man for murder.
He's accused of killing mother of two Krystal Marshall at her home on Friday afternoon.
Her body was discovered after emergency crews were called to a fire.
Her devastated partner, Anastasia Marshall, returned to the house this morning to collect clothes for her children.
Anastasia told 9News she was "not great".
"My youngest doesn't know yet," she said.
Friends arrived at the house with flowers.
"I just feel for them and I just think of my family," one friend said.
"If this had happened to my family I would just be totally devastated."
Crime scene investigators were collecting evidence from within the Barracoota Crescent property today.
Even a door was removed from its hinges and taken away.
It's believed the accused man had also been living at the home.
Anastasia told 9News the man had been a close friend for the past few months.
A neighbour of the couple, Jason, said the death was "shocking".
"Especially when you live next door to them, and there's kids everywhere."
Another nearby resident told 9News the quiet couple were "really nice neighbours".
"It's not fair."
The accused man has been refused bail and will appear in Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Monday.
