A manhunt is under way after a man was shot in the leg and rushed to hospital in Sydney's south this morning.
Emergency services found the 22-year-old man with a gunshot wound after they were called to a shopping centre carpark in Sans Souci about 5.45am.
A father and son followed the alleged shooter into a carpark on Rocky Point Road after they spotted a Mercedes acting suspiciously outside their home in Beverly Park.
The duo followed the car for 10 minutes, getting into a collision before the 22-year-old man was shot in the knee, NSW Police said.
"They noticed a white vehicle acting suspiciously outside their home and it drove off," Superintendent Rohan Cramsie said.
"It's believed in that struggle a gun was produced and a round was discharged."
The injured man was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital in a stable condition, where he remains.
A crime scene has been established by police as they continue to investigate the incident.
Police have asked any witnesses or people with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
