A man has been charged after an alleged stabbing attack at the Australian National University campus in Canberra yesterday.
Police will allege that 24-year-old Alex Ophel, a former student at the university, hit a man on the head with a frying pan at about 2.40pm yesterday.
The 24-year-old is then accused of stabbing a 20-year-old woman multiple times, before chasing a second 20-year-old woman and stabbing her.
He then allegedly approached a second man and punched him in the face.
All of the victims were university students.
One of the women is in a serious but stable condition in hospital, and the other is in a stable condition.
The 24-year-old man was arrested and has now been charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of assault, and one count of possessing an object to be used to kill.
Police do not believe he knew the victims.
