Man charged after two women allegedly assaulted and held captive in Brisbane

A man has been charged for allegedly assaulting two women and holding them captive after he met them out in Brisbane on Saturday night.
The 26-year-old Chermside man allegedly met two women at a Fortitude Valley business about 11.45pm on Saturday before the three of them went to a property on Latham Street, Chermside.
There he allegedly assaulted both women multiple times and prevented them from leaving the property, police have said.

"The women were eventually able to escape the address and sought medical assistance," a police spokesperson has said.
Detectives arrested the man and charged him with eight counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and two counts each of deprivation of liberty, torture.
He was refused police bail and was due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
