This morning Apple announced the date for their next product showcase event, to be held at their corporate headquarters where it's expected the next iPhone will be announced.
At 3am on Wednesday September 13 Sydney time, inside the Steve Jobs Theatre Apple CEO Tim Cook and his team will reveal their latest product lineup, which will undoubtedly include the iPhone 15.
iPhone 15 is rumoured to feature an all-new charging port, replacing the 11-year-old proprietary "Lighting" connector, after the European Union ruled all consumer electronics must feature USB-C connectors by late 2024.
This change will mean that everything from headphones to laptops as well as your iPhone will be charged with the same cable.
Though the rate at which it charges will vary from charger to charger and that's all to be worked out when Apple make their announcement.
It's also likely, if rumours are to be believed, that the switch used to Mute the iPhone or put it into Silent Mode will be replaced for the first time since the first iPhone in 2007 with a programmable Action button.
