Fifteen people charged after $100k of methamphetamine seized in Victoria

Police have made 15 arrests and seized $100,000 worth of meth following a major week-long drug trafficking operation in northern Victoria.
Detectives searched 17 properties across Shepparton and Melbourne between October 9 and 13 and allegedly seized 842 grams of methamphetamine, 40 grams of cocaine, MDMA, two imitation firearms, an ASP baton, more than $50,000 in cash and phones and laptops.
Police also arrested and charged 15 people aged between 25 and 51 years old over various drug and weapons offences following the raids.

The charges include traffick commercial quantities of methylamphetamine and GHB, possess proceeds of crime, possess prohibited weapon and drug possession.
The maximum penalty for anyone found guilty of trafficking a large commercial quantity of drugs is life in prison.
Those found guilty of trafficking drugs face a maximum penalty of 15 years imprisonment.

Detective Senior Sergeant Paul Shortis warned Victoria Police remained committed to dismantling drug syndicates.
"Detectives will allege the group was trafficking methylamphetamine throughout the Shepparton community and into Melbourne," he said in a statement.
"Victoria Police remains resolute in our efforts to identify, investigate and dismantle drug traffickers and organised crime networks.
"We will continue to cut off the supply chain of drug traffickers and hold anyone involved to account."
