Australians travelling to New Zealand on Air New Zealand can track their baggage from today.
Customers can track their luggage from check-in using the Air New Zealand app on both domestic and international flights.
Lost luggage can also be reported through the app, which will allow customers to monitor their bag's return.
"We heard from them (customers) that being able to track their bags' location would make their experience even more stress-free, so we quickly began making that customer request a reality," Air New Zealand Chief Customer and Sales Officer Leanne Geraghty said.
"In the unlikely event of your baggage taking a detour, the app now provides customers with the ability to report delayed or damaged baggage, as well as monitor the status of an existing report further simplifying the reunification process and allowing customers to easily monitor their bags' delivery."
"Customers can also submit a report via our website and receive updates on their claim status by email."
The airline ran a trial of the feature in April, with over 8000 customers using the app to track their luggage.
The feature starts working from the bag drop and will be updated through the journey, including when the luggage makes it onto the plane.
