Now no longer just the domain of the military, in recent years drones have become popular with everyday people and are now widespread. Drones are controlled by an operator using a radio signal, and are used by the military to hit strategic targets in the battlefield, particularly in counter-terror strikes. Commercially, drones have been used for delivery services, search and rescue, security, agriculture, inspections and surveying. Low cost technology has meant civilians have increasingly used drones for recreational flights and filming purposes. Futurists believes cargo and passengers drones will be introduced over the next 20 years.
