Aldi has been crowned "supermarket of the year" for 2022 by leading market researcher Roy Morgan.
The budget supermarket was top of the list in Roy Morgan's annual Customer Satisfaction Awards, which are based on face-to-face customer reports.
It's the third year in a row Aldi has claimed the title - and the sixth overall.
Cost of living pressures have driven more Australians to the Aldi shelves, Roy Morgan said - and for good reason.
Citing data from PwC, Roy Morgan claimed the supermarket saved its customers $3.1 billion in 2022.
"We are thrilled ALDI has won a spot in the hearts and back pockets of Aussie shoppers to be named Australia's Best Supermarket of the Year by Roy Morgan for the third consecutive year," Aldi Australia group buying director Simon Padovani-Ginies said.
He admitted it had been a challenge to pass on savings to customers in 2022.
"We aim to cut out unnecessary costs and pass these savings onto customers," Padovani-Ginies said.
"This has never been tested more than it was in the past year, and we're proud that we've been able to maintain our low-price leadership, delivering real money back in the pockets of Australians when they need it most."
Roy Morgan's customer satisfaction ratings are calculated from an annual face-to-face survey – the world's most comprehensive ongoing single source survey.
The annual award is presented to the organisation with the highest number of top monthly ratings for customer satisfaction throughout the previous 12 months against its industry competitors.
